For brands and suppliers
Connect the relationships behind your products.
Supchara helps brands and suppliers document direct business relationships and trace product supply chains using GS1 identifiers and information confirmed by participating organizations.
See beyond your immediate business partner.
Knowing your direct customer is one part of understanding a product's supply chain. Supchara connects the relationships declared by participating organizations so brands and suppliers can review paths toward retailers and ecommerce platforms. Missing connections or product declarations can leave those paths incomplete.
Illustrative example
One product, three organizations.
- 1. Brand
- 2. Distributor
- 3. Retailer
A brand sells a product to a distributor, which sells it to a retailer. The brand and distributor each declare their direct relationship; the distributor and retailer do the same. All three declare that they handle the same GTIN.
Those confirmed connections and matching product declarations form the basis of a traceable path. If the distributor-to-retailer connection is missing, the path is incomplete. The brand does not declare a direct relationship with the retailer unless they also do business directly.
This example explains the relationship model; it is not a customer case study.
Support brand protection with better visibility.
Review whether your organization recognizes members along a product's supply chain and investigate gaps or unfamiliar relationships. An unrecognized member or an incomplete trace is a reason to review supporting information, not proof that a product is counterfeit.
How to get started
Step 1
Establish your organization
Create your account and organization, identify your role in the supply chain, and provide your organization information.
Step 2
Declare the products you handle
Use the complete Global Trade Item Numbers (GTINs) assigned to your products. Tracing depends on organizations declaring the same product identifier.
Step 3
Connect with direct business partners
Declare the organizations you do business with directly. Both organizations must declare the relationship for the connection to be established.
Step 4
Review your supply-chain paths
Review traced relationships and whether your organization recognizes supply-chain members. Use the applicable Data Policies to control visibility of member names for retailers and ecommerce platforms.
